How Members Can Get Involved

As we age in community, many of us are seeking connections and finding ways to serve one another.  Below are some of the committees and working groups that enable us to support the three pillars of our strategy. We welcome you to connect and serve with us.

These groups hold meetings that are open to all members. If you are interested in learning about what's going on and possibly getting involved, please contact the person listed for each.

Arbor West Neighbors Board

The board sets the strategy and oversees all the committees and working groups. The board is also responsible for maintaining good practices for fiscal management and how we present ourselves to the public.  See who's on the board.

This group is responsible for sharing information about Arbor West Neighbors with the wider community. It also includes participating in such events as Day in Our Village, the Farmers Market and various parades and civic events.

Work with Student Volunteers

We have a number of tasks that might be done by high school students as a part of their requirements for community service. Students will need an AWN member as a supervisor.  See Community Service Tasks.

Advocacy Working Group

This group helps oversee the many and diverse projects that AWN is involved with to ensure older adults in our communities are represented. Each Advocacy group meets on its own schedule. Contact the specific coordinator(s) to learn more.

See more at Advocacy.

Program Working Group

This group plans and produces programs open to AWN members and the wider community that educate and engage people on a variety of topics relevant to older adults.  See more at Programs.
